I really think this is an awesome implementation of a gyroscope. By creating a super-steady wheel for a bicycle,it makes it really easy for kids and novices to learn how to balance on a bike, and then gradually reduce it’s assistance (read speed of the gyroscope) until you are balancing on your own. My only concern would be how easy it is to correct a bike’s balance once it starts to fall over? Does it just slow down the fall so you don’t get hurt,or is it still possible to counter the effects of the gyroscope and recover from it easily? Nevertheless,a hell of a lot better than training wheels. (Found on Gizmodo)
