Ferrari have officially launched the successor to the popular F430 (which itself was the successor to,in my opinion,the better looking F360). But that’s the thing with Ferrari’s these days. They don’t look that great at launch,or even for the first few weeks (months?). But then you see one (in person maybe…) after some time has passed,and you can’t help appreciate how right Ferrari got it. I am inclined to say the same for the new 458. Powering this gorgeous beast is a 5000cc V8 engine,which produces 570 bhp and nearly 400 lb-ft of torque,allowing it to power this aluminium car to 100 km/h (~62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds,and topping out at 202 mph! But that’s expected,after all,it is a Ferrari. What matters more is how it looks,and I think you’ll have to agree,it looks like it’s angry,it’s furious,it’s going to kick your ass with that low front,those pulled back scowling eyebrows over the LED headlamps. I love the classic Ferrari 5-spoke wheels the car is riding on,but I think the real head-turner for me is the fact that is (as far as I can remember) the first sports/super car,maybe even the first car overall,that I have seen that has THREE exhaust pipes. I’ve seen 2. I’ve seen 4. I’ve even seen 6. But 3 is definitely new to me,but who cares,I love the fact that are wrapped around in bodywork in the middle of the car (nearly Pagani Zonda style). No photos yet of the interior,but again,it’s a Ferrari. They know how to do this right. Now,we wait to see how fast it will go around Top Gear’s track! (Found on Autoblog)
