Pittsburgh’s Grant Building Is Signalling .. Pitetsbkrrh?

So I didn’t realize that the flashing becon on top of the Grant Building was anythign but that, a flashing becon for planes. But apparently it’s suppossed to be flashing out morse code for P-I-T-T-S-B-U-R-G-H….except well…it isn’t. Tom Stepleton, a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon (w00t CMU!), was observing the beacon one day, and saw a a string of dots and dashes that translatted to a K. He immediately realized something was off, and created the above video which shows the beacon spelling out P-I-T-E-T-S-B-K-R-R-H. The current owners of the Grant Building are aware of the problem (now?) and working to fix it soon…as an engineer I don’t see how hard it could be to fix this… (Found on Gizmodo)
