Kindle gets super-sized this Wednesday?

The interwebs are ablaze with news that Amazon is indeed releasing a new Kindle this Wednesday. This was only further re-affirmed after Amazon announced a press conference to be held at Pace Univerisity this Wednesday moring. As the article form AllthingsD implies, rumors have been abound since the new Kindle 2.0 was released back in February, that there was a possibility that Amazon will be releasing something larger to cater to both the newspaper companies and the students. Great ideas in their own respect, but my bigger issue with the Kindle are the prices for the eBooks. It is still ridiculous that a eBook is only marginally cheaper than a physical book given the limitations and lower cost it brings to the table. I very well can’t lend a friend a book on my Kindle, nor can I read it without worrying about sand, water (for the most part) or other elements. True that the Kindle allows me to carry multiple books and magazines in a very thin and lightweight platform, but you do end up paying quite a bit for that luxury. I think if the Kindle were in the sub-$100 range, even $150, I would be much more inclined to buying it. Stay tuned for updates on Wednesday.
