Parent company Walt Disney has signed up with Hulu to allow them to distribute shows that currently air on ABC (i.e. Lost),Disney Channel and ABC Family. They will also provide some of the older movies from Walt Disney Studios. While ABC was the real pioneer at streaming full tv show episodes to the web a couple years ago,Hulu has really shot up after it was launched between a partnership with NBC and Fox. With their recent Superbowl ads, they have really left the competition (Google’s Youtube and CBS’s TV.com) in the dust when it comes to streaming TV shows.
While I can’t recommend hulu as strongly as before their debacle with removing support for boxee.tv,they still provide a great service, and do an awesome job at it. What’s interesting to see is some of the analysis that has come out after this annoucement, like how this deal will affect Apple and their iTunes. What do you think? Are you excited about getting more shows on Hulu?
